The materials posted in this blog were created for the International Reading Association's 54th Annual Convention West in Phoenix, AZ and the Convention North Central in Minneapolis, MN. This year's conference theme is Multiple Pathways to Literacy. The Conference West is held from February 21-25, 2009. The Conference North Central is held from May 3 -7, 2009. Our session title is Engaging Teachers and Students in Interactive Technologies as Pathways to Literacy.
Margaret Drew is an Associate Professor of Curriculum & Instruction/Reading. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate students. Her favorite topics are literacy assessment, support strategies, and teacher training. *** Pat Thompson is an Assistant Professor and Middle School Program Coordinator. She is interested in content area literacy, written communication, and young adult literature. *** Linda Heeler teaches fifth and sixth grades at Horace Mann Laboratory School on the Northwest Missouri State University campus. Her interests include: using technology to enhance her students' learning environment, reading, and grandchildren.
